The activities I am requesting for my classroom will help students develop their fine motor skills while allowing them the opportunity to create and design from their imagination. Fine motor skills are very important for a child especially at the elementary level. They spend a lot of time cutting, coloring, writing and drawing. When students have a deficit in fine motor skills it is difficulty for them to do many of the tasks that are asked of them. Many of these students have the cognitive ability to do their work but struggle with fine motor and often need assistance to complete academic work. These items would be used in my classroom and placed in STEM boxes for students to use after they are done their work, during indoor recess and during play based periods that are spread throughout our day.
