My room serves as a space that supports students social-emotional growth. Self-regulation modules, crisis de-escalation, and restorative conversations take place throughout the day. I have observed that the type of seating available to students during these different tasks is very important to them. These bean bag chairs will help make the space more student-centered, as we learn and reflect on who they are as emotional beings and what skills they can use to be the best version of themselves. They also provide an alternative option for students with diverse sensory needs. A cozy seat can be very comforting while going through the growing pains of puberty.
