We are purchasing food to send home with our students. The Giving Gang packs bags of food to send home with 125 of our students. At the beginning of the year, parents were able to request a bag of food to be sent home on Friday with the child to help fill a gap in food over the weekend. Seven of the 125 students who receive this food bag are in my class. To put this in other terms, 22% of my student’s parents report that they do not have enough food in their home over the weekend. My Fiesta Bowl Charities Wish that was funded, is to be able to purchase non-perishable food that will be sent home with the identified students on the weekend.
