As a special education teacher, I work with students that have different needs than a typical student. I have seen a rise in ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) in students and as teachers, we need to find ways to reach each of these students and individualize a plan to meet their specific needs.
One way to help these students is to offer flexible seating options. I would love to be able to offer my students multiple ways to keep focused while allowing them the ability to move their bodies. There are many different options including Stability Ball Chairs, StudyRocker Floor Chairs, Kore Wobble Chairs, Revolve Active Stools and even CushionED Active Seats. Each child's needs are different, therefore I would need many different options to see what helps the individual child. As a resource teacher servicing 25 students, I would love to not only have these items available in my classroom, but offer them to the general education teachers to use in their classroom environment. This way our students are getting what they need 100% of the time they are at school.
