Our class consists of 36 second graders that are eager to learn and explore the world within their horizon and beyond. With the opportunity for laptops and technology, all learners, including those with special needs, those with a hands-on learning style, and those ready to go one step beyond, we would be able to provide a stimulating learning environment. A learning environment that encourages students to pose inquisitive questions that involve the scientific process. A learning environment that creates critical math thinkers to problem solve and provide various solutions.
With our laptops, we would be able to have a consistent learning environment that connects what we are learning at school with our home and community. My students would be able to strengthen their math fluency skills through interactive math programs. Students would also be able to partake in math readiness programs that meet them at their level and foster growth. Additionally, students would be able to document their growth by using age and developmentally appropriate charts that encourage progress and success. All skills that are necessary in developing independent 21st century learners.
