4th grade relies heavily on collaboration. We often sit together as a group in chairs to have discussions and work on learning tasks together. When we use Chromebooks to incorporate technology skills, students have to sit awkwardly with Chromebooks in their laps instead of on a flat surface. Lap desks would allow my students to focus on the content in front of them instead of the logistics of their materials. Students would be a little more freedom to move and have their own defined space rather than being bunched together in chairs. Lap desks would allow each of my students to sit in a way that is comfortable and helps them learn.
