We know that these students need to release their energy through physical movement and "wiggles" in order to stay focused in the classroom. Sitting on bean bag chairs with white board and manipulatives will have my students incredibly engaged and focused in math. Wiggling around on new yoga ball chairs will let them bounce during guided reading activities. Sitting or laying on a rug on the floor to complete group assignments with their partners will allow them to move as much as they need to, when they need to. Without this ability to move in their "seats", focusing is hard. Without this focus, learning is tough. We know they need to move to stay engaged, so let's do it!
