Our school is forging forward with STEM, and in order to offer our students more opportunities to build the items they create, we are expanding our makerspace to include a 3D printer. Students will use the printer to bring to life their creations through the TinkerCad program. Possible projects could include roller coasters, spacecraft, or life-size cells in the classroom, but could be expanded to include projects that will affect the community as well, like storm shelters or playground equipment. When students have the opportunity to use their brains to solve problems, and they can see physical evidence of solutions, they LEARN! Our hope is that students will ultimately use the tools at school to develop solutions within our community.
