Our first-grade team has decided to have our students make a painting for their holiday gifts to their parents. We know that parents love to see their child's work and display for all to see. My students will be making original paintings of a forest with birch trees. We have looked at tried out different types of paint that would make this project last and that is why we need acrylic paint. These paintings will definitely be hanging on the walls for years to come. My students love using different media when making art and oil-based paint is our next lesson. We do Art on Friday afternoons and painting has been the highlight of our art lessons. When I told my students about the gift they will be making for their parents and showed them pictures of real birch trees, their ears and eyes were all on me. Help me bring this project to life so that my students can learn about the fine arts and the patience and rigor that goes into creating their own.
