Generation after generation, math has been viewed by some as one of the most difficult subjects to understand. It is important as a math teacher to show students that math is useful and needed in their everyday lives. Project based learning will give students the chance to develop concepts through engaging real world task. Students shouldn't have to stress about supplies or resources while in a positive learning environment. The students will use the supplies to be able to successfully complete their project base learning task. Many projects include the need for pencils, pens, coloring materials (to stimulate brain activity), and other material that gives students the resources to create and develop multiple representations of math concepts. The materials I am requesting will contribute to student engagement and creativity. Allowing students to express their creativity in math will assist them in developing a needed skill for careers in the twenty-first century.
