Right now in my classroom there is no carpet where my class meets for math. They sit on the tile floor. Having a soft place to sit and learn will help them to be more comfortable and warm so that they can focus on our math! They are working on story problems, time, patterns in number and equations, representing equations in different ways and so much more. Having this carpet would allow the student to spread out more during our reading time which would help them to stay focused on their reading and not so much on a friend nearby.
