Playing comes naturally to young children. By providing students with materials that will foster that love of play, my students will have the opportunity to learn communication skills and to develop social skills. It is my goal to set up constructive play learning centers in my classroom that will enhance my students’ vocabulary and offer them experiences that will encourage them to use language to communicate. Students will be able to relate play experiences to real life scenarios that will help them to grow. By adding materials with letters to play centers students will become familiar with them. Learning the alphabet is more fun when students are able to manipulate objects with letters rather than simply memorizing the symbols.
