Students need to be able to make connections and see themselves in the books that they read. Working with such diverse learners from different cultural backgrounds requires a diverse library. These books allow students to foster a love for learning through providing mirrors of themselves in rich texts. Books have the potential to create lasting impressions in the lives of students. In addition to providing mirrors for diverse learners, students who may not be exposed to different cultures can use these books as a window into the diversity that is present within our school population. These books will greatly assist our students to gain comfort in the differences of others.

About my class
