This year, my students have the Third Grade Reading Guarantee Requirement. The third graders must pass one of the 4 state tests that they take online. If they don't pass one of these tests, then they are not able to pass to the 4th grade. I would hate for my students not to meet this requirement because of not having exposure with technology. I currently use Google Classroom with my students for many assignments and websites. However, not everyone is able to participate each day because of not having a one to one student to computer ratio. By having these two chromebooks, it will give my students a better opportunity to be able to use Google Classroom, as well as practice their typing skills on a daily basis. By donating to our project, you will help give my students the opportunity to utilize technology in the classroom, as well as ultimately help increase their academic achievement. Writing across all content areas is emphasized throughout the third grade. By having these two chromebooks, my students will be able to type out their writings not only in Reading, but in Science and Social Studies too. Students will feel proud because their published work can then be displayed in the classroom. My students' confidence will be strengthened because of having more experience with using technology in our classroom. By having this technology, my students will be able to be on the same playing field as other third grade students across the country. I believe that these chromebooks will help my students develop twenty-first century critical thinking skills that will prepare them for a successful future.
