These materials will be used to support math and science skills. For example the children will have the opportunity to sort and count the blocks and other manipulatives. During the activities the teacher will introduce basic math and science terminology and concepts to provide the foundation for future learning. All learning must be rehearsed, and children rehearse life skills through play experiences. All children are programmed to seek out information and these materials will support this mechanism. Interactions with such materials will help my students develop more complex social processes that highlight the reasoning of our existence. We are social beings, and children need increased social experiences within the classroom in order to regulate their emotions.
