I will use Tri-Blocks and Word Dominos to support students with specific learning disabilities, to gain greater word attack skills by providing a way for them to use manipulates to build phonics based words. Repeated practice of discreet phonics skills is essential in supporting students to gain mastery and progress in their reading instruction. The goal of all reading instruction is to support students to gain the skills necessary, to find meaning and pleasure out of any text which they encounter in life. The ability to decode and "sound out" phonetically based words is an essential foundational skill that all readers need in order to gain the necessary tools to become fluent readers. When students utilize word decoding skills, then they can grow to better understand the meaning of what they are reading. This essential skill empower students to learn in all areas of literacy.
