I currently have one rocking chair that I have borrowed from our Occupational Therapist. Every child that I serve requests to sit in that chair. What I have noticed, is that every student has benefited from the rocking chair. Some students need the rocking chair for sensory input, and others need it because they just learn better when they can move. I have noticed that each child's focus has increased when they have participated in Speech Therapy sessions while sitting in the rocking chair. When I realized that students benefited from taking turns to sit in the rocking chair, I decided to obtain rocking chairs for the group. By supporting this project, you will be helping students increase focus and attention, which will help them meet their communication goals. This will increase their academic achievement and improve their communication skills for social interactions for teachers and peers. Please donate to this project and help my students.
