As a fourth grade teacher, I have many wigglers in my classroom. For many, sitting at a desk or a table for an hour-long class causes them to lose focus and impact their learning. That's why my class is set up in stations, as it gives students the opportunity to move around the room. "Ms Gorman, can we sit on the floor?" For one of their stations, an independent technology station, many students opt out of sitting at the desks in my room to sitting on the floor. When asked why, they said they like being able to sit somewhere different. That got me thinking...isn't that what my room is for? An alternative place to learn that best suits my students? This floor table and seating is the perfect way for my students to have the choice of where to sit and still be productive learners. Please consider donating to this project!
