I have many students who have wonderful ideas in their heads for writing assignments, but they struggle to get their thoughts down on paper because they are self -conscious about their grammar and mechanics skills. These headphones would allow them to dictate their thoughts and enjoy the process of creating written material without the stress of having trouble with spelling. mechanics, etc. I am always amazed at the creativity that my students can demonstrate when they are given the supports they need for writing. Many of my students have the accommodation of speech to text and these devices will allow them to have that accommodation. These headphones will allow my students to work more independently in their writing. They will not need to depend on their resource teacher or paraprofessional. This will help my students be less self-conscious about their writing.
