The demographics of this school lead to students coming to class without proper school supplies. This can be embarrassing for students who do not have financial access to the supplies that they need to be successful. I would love to be able to help students who come from low income families and provide these students with learning supplies (binders, pencils, paper, notebooks, pencil pouches, pens, highlighters, etc.) so that they can feel as though they are successful in school. Many students who cannot afford to purchase school supplies often do not attempt to try in school. There is no greater joy than being able to provide a student with a completely stocked binder, and seeing them take care of their supplies and actively participating in class. This also helps students build relationships with their teachers and the schools.
