Students are learning about the effect of gravitational forces on objects. The project requires students to ask questions based on phenomena involving gravity and then create a plan to test their possible answers to their questions. Students make up the activities to test their hypotheses and use the toys in their tests. The Gravitrax toy can be constructed in many iterations to observe how gravity acts on objects of different masses, a concept difficult to test in the real world. Students use the results from their tests to make models of how we can use motion and gravity to think about transportation for the future.
