My class is currently reading To Kill a Mockingbird. Better novels will help my students better enjoy the novel. We use the books to find in-text research and to discuss important events in the novel. Having new books means that all of my freshmen can read from the same versions and not be distracted by having to use different class sets. They will also not be distracted by broken pages and missing covers. They will be able to use their books for essays, projects, and study questions. I can discard all of the books that are in such bad shape.
