Our online community will be strengthened by our shared reading and discussion of the Chicago Public Library's Best of the Best Books of 2019, in which a young Umpqua girl's tribe is delisted, and she is "Indian No More". We will read this book together via Zoom meetings, and having a physical book to handle and mark will strengthen students' engagement and help them learn more. Our study of the themes in this book will help students to recognize and appreciate the strengths they can gain from honoring their own and others' cultural heritages.

About my class
