Currently, when working in groups to create dance performances, students in my class must all perform to the same song. There aren't enough devices available to allow students to pick music for their group that inspires them to create a performance that is meaningful to them. While it is neat to see how each group interprets the same piece of music differently, I would love to see my students get to embrace music that is more personal to them. I want students to learn how to produce dance performances that go beyond the stage. These tablets will allow students to plan, film, and edit their own dance videos that will utilize a different form of creativity than we currently get to explore in our classroom. While I cover as many different dance styles as I can in class, these tablets would allow students to research and discover so much about different styles of dance, and the cultures that created them, than I could possibly fit into a single semester.
