By having a clean place to sit ,my students will be more willing to sit on the rug during presentation time and less likely to get their uniforms dirty when sitting down. This rug has been in the classroom for years and while it has been cleaned, the stains still remain. I feel awful having my kids sit down when I know how truly dirty it looks. With a new carpet in the class room, I know my kids, especially the younger grades, will feel better about coming into art and sitting down when we are watching movies or clips on the TV.
