I want to be able to offer my students flexible seating to help them be motivated and focused while learning. My kindergartners all come to school so excited and ready to learn, but this is the first year of education for most of my students and I want to foster a love for life long learning for each of them. I’d love to be able to provide my students with everything that I can to help them be as successful as they can be. I believe by giving them choice and being able to offer my students choice through flexible seating is essential in their growth. I want my students to not only be comfortable in the seat of their choosing, but also more engaged in learning in the classroom. Flexible seating has been linked to higher academic performance and improved behavior. My goal is to have my students become more successful in the classroom while they feel empowered to have choice and control over their environment. And, if you’ve ever met a five or six year old you know how wiggly they can be. The benefits of flexible seating for my kindergarten students will be endless!
