Education is changing every day, especially the growing use of technology in classrooms. While technology is becoming an increasingly large part of society and our students lives, I want to also ensure that students can become good digital citizens. It is my hope that incorporating this project into my classroom will help them see all of the positive aspects of using technology. The VIBE Interactive Whiteboard is the perfect dual purpose piece of technology. In these times of Distance Learning, this whiteboard can integrate seamlessly with Google Meet, and share the whiteboard with all participants. It also integrates with all Google Suite products, including google drive, so everything is saved to the cloud. A very big challenge with Distance or Hybrid Learning in math specifically is the need for a white board or another way to work out a problem showing every step. This project will greatly help not only myself to accomplish that, but help all of my students seeing more problems fully worked out in real time. In the classroom, this whiteboard will be the perfect opportunity for small group instruction. In my class, we will be using a station rotation model. One station is a station led by either the co-teaching special educator or the ELL/MLL support teacher who pushes in to my class. This will be an amazing tool for all of my multilingual learners and my students who need extra visual supports. In this technology driven world, as much exposure to up-to-date technology will help increase their technology literacy as well as fuel their desire to learn more about technology as well as how technology can be used in education, specifically, in this case, in mathematics (or STEAM, in general)!
