A writing center is important for all classrooms. Fostering student independence is a key step in the seventh grade. Organized writing centers are a way that all students, regardless of their ability to buy supplies themselves, are able to have access to materials they need to finish their school work. In classrooms with 25 to 30 students it is always disheartening to reach a quiet student in the back and realize they have not started their writing assignment because they do not have any paper or pencils. I hope that an organized writing center will help all of my students be successful!
