Our dual-language classrooms use centers and stations to provide smaller group instructions and better provide differentiation. The tasks in each individual centers are designed to practice specific language skills. Students will practice writing Chinese characters through different mediums. While repetitive writing task is used in many classrooms to ensure students' writing accuracy, we believe that students learn best when their learning styles are honored. Incorporating different sensory writing tasks, students are stimulated in a variety of ways to better enhance their Chinese character writing. Language learning can be a window to whole new worlds of fun! Traditional games and calligraphy writing also create a learning environment that connects school learning to home cultures. Parents and families will also be invited to join in on the hands-on fun!
