Our school's Therapy Team is attempting to make a designated sensory room, not only for our student's with sensory needs, but all students to be able to engage in a sensory break in their daily classroom schedules. A ball pit in a designated sensory room will provide our preschool aged students the means to achieve movement, which is essential to ready their bodies for academic instruction. They will be able to engage in therapeutic play individually and with peers that will ultimately increase their social skills, academic performance in the classroom setting, and emotional well being by possibly preventing adverse behaviors that are typical outcomes of sensory processing disorders.
