I am requesting specific hand drums to add to the small collection of outdated instruments I currently have for my students. The proven healing powers of hand drumming would benefit my most vulnerable students who have suffered from the trauma life has dealt them while growing up in poverty. I want my students learning on the best equipment as I teach them skills in reading rhythms and keeping basic beats. Through drum circles, my students will experience community building, team work and self expression, all qualities that will ensure my students become lifelong learners and will prepare them for college and careers.
