The classroom carpet is the focal point for learning in a Kindergarten classroom. This is the space where we come together to learn, to create, to dance, and to play. We read on our carpet, we have whole-group and small-group learning on our carpet, we sing and dance on the carpet, the activities that take place on our carpet are never-ending. Many of the carpets in classrooms show physical boundaries for students to learn personal space, particularly in a structured learning setting. I am a new Kindergarten teacher and in dire need of a full functioning carpet area. A new carpet will provide a comfortable and fresh place to learn. The classroom carpet is visually appealing, and is also clearly linked to learning. This particular carpet is designed with rectangles so we can have specific seating assignments when needed. I believe that the students will be very excited to use this new carpet for learning time.
