The Behringer X-Air is a very sophisticated piece of hardware. It has 18 instrument/microphone channels that allow for a wide variety of sounds to be transmitted. The word "Air" refers to its ability to transmit data from the mixer to a computer or tablet with no cords or cables. Students can not only hear the instruments that are being run through the mixer, but they can also see the music on a visual provided by the Digital Audio Work Station applications provided. The 8 channel headphone mixer serves the simple purpose of allowing 8 students at a time to hear the audio of the X-Air while being able to adjust to a comfortable volume that is useful with students facing challenges with audition such as Autism or deafness.
