Scientific inquiry activities engage young children and encourages them to explore new ideas. During free choice, children choose which centers to learn in that day. More often then not, our children do not choose the science areas because of the lack of materials available. The students enjoy STEM activities presented in other centers but need more options in order to expand their thinking. I have chosen this learning material to enhance my students' development in the area of science. The students have expressed their desire for more scientific related activities and materials. With the Tinkering Toolbox, students will be able to plan, design and execute their own experiments. Students will be able to create experiments involving simple machines such as pulleys, levers and wheel and axles. Students will be given the opportunities to design and test their projects.
