The English I students need scaffolding when learning how to analyze literature and informational text. We use various online resources like Vocabulary.com, Newsela, Khan Academy, and Collections online resources like Level-up tutorials. When students enter my classroom, they sign-out a laptop and are able to use if for various classroom assignments. Using headphones for online resources adds to the interactive experience. Students are able to hear how words are pronounced and learn from the Level-up tutorials. Students have weekly lessons when they need to use the headphones. Having the headphones is going to make a huge impact because many students do not have the headphones needed for the online lessons and tutorials.
