I am so lucky to have a classroom library that my students use every day, but I need a place to put the books I recently acquired through donations. My students are free to choose any book to read for our independent reading time in class and at home. By having control over what they read, my students are becoming avid readers. However, the books currently sit in boxes or unorganized piles on the floor, which is a sad way to treat such a great learning tool. With bookshelves, the books will be prominently displayed and easily accessible for my students to browse and choose from. The students will learn how to treat books respectfully and how to organize a library by genre.
