With the additional iPads in my room, technology will be more accessible to students. This will enrich the learning experience of students in my general education classes and those that need additional assistance. Students gravitate towards technology when learning because it less intimidating and makes learning fun. They have the ability to learn on their own, through the exploration of technology. With these iPads, students will be able to complete their daily online writing assignments in a timely manner, learn to problem solve on their own by using the internet to search for answers, as well as, add depth and meaning to their research papers by providing examples from online resources. They will even be able to use the iPads to look up background information on the author and time periods of the novels we will read in the next few semesters. In addition to students in the general population, I have students with special accommodations and requirements, which makes their learning experience more complex. Having iPads as an additional resource to the students will allow me to give them the same opportunity to learn and be successful in school. They will be able to get the assistance they need to complete assignments on their own, look for examples and visual aids to assist with learning, scaffold learning through interactive programs, and differentiate instruction by using media as another means of education. Each student in my class loves to learn, by adding these iPads to the class, it will enhance their overall learning experience.
