The goal of reading this book is to help students understand part of the world’s history and why it is still important to know. We will connect this book with a YA book that we have already read. Bridging this will help students see the relevance and beauty of older novels. It will help my students see the importance of reading and how it can make us empathize with people born generations before us. Not only will it push them forward in reading but also in history. History is vital to understand so that future generations learn from our past.
