Receiving these materials will be a starting point for having a school vegetable garden. This will be a first for many of the students. Yes most of them have studied about plants and probably planted seeds in a milk carton. However having a vegetable garden will teach them responsibility, ownership, hands on learning of planting and taking care of a garden. Also patience and pride that they are contributing to the school and to the environment. They will observe the growth of the different vegetables and do research of the various needs of each. In the long run, they can plan of what to do with the vegetables.
