I teach 3rd and 5th grade math at my school. A typical lesson incorporates me modeling for my students how to complete a specific math problem and then book work or worksheets. MY goal is to use tablets in the classroom, partner up my students in pairs or triads, and have them use white boards/markers/erasers to collaboratively work on math questions. Each year I pay for 30 math IXL accounts so that my students have unlimited access to as much math as they can handle. What they lack are the appropriated amount of appliances to utilize this resource. By getting 5 more tablets, I can effectively help teach 10-15 more students in each class. My learning outcome would formally come from their improvement on tests and quizzes by using these devices; and informally by watching them enjoy coming to school and using technology instead of pencils and pens all day.
