The average age of our library's current atlas collection is 2001. By purchasing these new atlases, students will have an updated view of the the world. Right now, our current atlases show them the world as it was 18 years ago, which is before any of them were even born. If funded, we would make a book display highlighting this cool new atlas collection. We would also work together with the social studies classes so students are able to refer to them during their study of history and geography. In addition, we would have a lunch program in the library where students go on a scavenger hunt through the atlases. This would expose them to the information you can find in different kinds of maps as well as introduce them to the new collection.
