As a developing English program, our students are in dire need of educational materials. On a typical day in the classroom, students are forced to share outdated and dilapidated textbooks, group up to read one novel and complete much of their technology-enhanced learning outside of the classroom, simply because the resources are not available to our students. While our students embody the culture of excellence and engagement established by our school leadership, it is evident that their ability to think critically and creatively about classroom and course content is hampered and constricted by a fundamental lack of basic core content materials. As most educators fundamentally agree, students cannot optimize their learning and creativity when their basic needs are not met. In our classrooms, this basic need applies to access to content, and we desperately need more Chromebooks.

About my class
