I would like my students to have access to the world of Science and social studies. Scholastic has a weekly reader that caters to kindergarten students. The magazines take the students to different countries and it exposes them to science. I could use these readers and provide hands-on lessons. For example, the topic could be about world disasters. We could make tornadoes in jars. Another example would be if the topic was about volcanoes, we could use the requested kit to build volcanoes and have them erupt. The magazine from Scholastic science supplies will be a great collaboration for student learning. Exploring is the key to learning. They will not only read about it, they will have visuals and hands-on practice. The outcome will be that the students will remember what is taught within science and social studies due to delivery of information.
