Sports teach students how to be held accountable. You must be successful in your classes in order to be eligible to participate in sports. We are seeing a drop of female athletes participating in athletics, so by improving the overall program the desire of females to participate in sports will increase. We currently have 35 female athletes participating in the basketball program. We are in a district that has 2-3 teams that are state ranked. It is difficult for many of my athletes to travel and play in surrounding areas that would afford them an opportunity to catch up with other districts. This basketball shot trainer, blocking pad, basketball, markers, and other equipment will help bridge the gap for the girls in the program to see successes.
