The materials from this project will allow the students to expand their communication skills by creating different dramatic play situations. We are ready to go for a drive, possibly stopping at the roadside fruit market, bakery, hospital, handy person shop, and or pasta shop with our babies. With our limited supplies, we have managed to transform the room into different dramatic play experiences. We would love the opportunity to add the items from this project, which would increase their direct involvement in the play. All of the items allow the student direct interaction. When the students take off in their cars, they will often come up to a staff member or classmate. We will ask the students to run some errands, such as go to the store and pick up some milk. We wave goodbye and tell them to drive safely. Seconds later, they arrive with one of the ballpit balls with a huge smile. Image the excitement when the students can go to the bakery, fruit stand, take their baby to the hospital, talk with a friend/staff member on the phone, and or go do some needed repairs in the kitchen area.
