Sight word readers will support their literacy development in reading and writing. A part of becoming a good reader is to learn the sight words. Sight words are commonly used words that you learn by sight. For English Language Learners, this may be difficult because sight words do not have pictures that they can associate with them. English Language Learners need to see repetition and patterns in order to remember them. Students will have access to read and reread these books at home. Immersing students with familiar books can help them flourish in the English language. They will learn to use these words in reading, writing, and speaking.
