Escape rooms have gained a lot of popularity over the last few years. They are a fun way to problem solve, socialize with friends and get your adrenaline pumping. Now, many teachers have started using them in the classroom to help students practice content, social skills, problem solving, provide movement and tap into various student learning styles. My goal is to create escape rooms for my level 1 and 2 students that will engage even my poorly motivated students, all while keeping them in the target language! These games can be tailored to any level and any language so my entire department will be able to do them with their students. In order for my students to experience an escape room, I will need to purchase a kit that contains the locks and boxes needed for this type of game. Another additional benefit for using escape rooms in the classroom is that you can create a game for virtually any topic so it's very versatile. Thank you for considering my project. My students and I are very excited.
