Kindergarten is an important year in which children acquire a foundation in language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies that will support them throughout all their years of schooling. The foundation must be solid and strong in order to delve deeper and expand upon such concepts year to year. iPads will be used in my classroom as a tool to engage students in new topics, motivate them to pursue complex ideas, and reinforce important skills and concepts that will guide them to success. Using iPads, we'll access educational applications, create digital projects, assess understanding, and conduct research. Not only will iPads allow students to take control of their own learning, but they'll help to produce kindergarteners that are confident and prepared when they move on to first grade.
