I am requesting assistance providing low-tech solutions in the form of picture exchange icons or communication boards printed from a color printer. The icons and boards are then laminated and used in exchange for items the student is requesting. I use a lot of ink in the hp Color Laser Jet Pro printer that was purchased by our school. I am also requesting assistance purchasing iPads to be used in the classroom setting for training students how to communicate using a high-tech solution. These iPads would be used in the classroom and speech room settings. Many times before purchasing an iPad for a child, a trial period will be initiated to see if a high-tech augmentative communication device is an appropriate solution for a student. The requested iPads would be used for this purpose. Non-verbal students can request, comment, and interact with adults and peers in their school and home environments with the use of low-tech and high-tech augmentative and alternative communication solutions. Help me give students the tools to be successful in their learning environments.
