With Easel Pads and markers, students will be able to collaborate and take risks by posting their work in the classroom and the hallways. Having glue sticks, scissors, post-its, and markers will provide my students with the materials to create colorful and useful notebooks. This has proven to increase retention of content, which is critical in a state-tested course like biology. The markers and scissors will be specifically useful when we learn about cells. The students will be able to differentiate between different organelles by using various colors. They will also be wonderful when we are comparing the steps of photosynthesis and cellular respiration.
